The Disks
The tarot's suit of disks is also known as the suit of pentacles, and corresponds to the suit of spades in a conventional 52 card deck. The disks are about the physical, the material or concrete world. While the other suits deal with the intellectual (swords), creative (wands), and emotional (cups) state of mind, the disks deal with the physical issues of being. The disks bring what we have imagined from intellectual curiosity through the creative passions into the emotional self and finally into concrete form. It is the end of the circle, if a circle can have an end. The disks are where we find the completed cycle of manifestation taking place. The element of earth is associated with grounding and disks. Bringing forth, growing, and yielding a harvest mount with this suit. Material goods, wealth, grounding and bringing forth "from the ground up" are what the disks look at. They are associated with the merchant class from medieval times, just as the swords are associated with land owners (lords, or royals), i.e. those with wealth enough to dedicate themselves to intellectual pursuits, while wands were the "heathen" class (taken from the derivation of the word for heath dwellers) or peasant class and the cups are associated with those who dedicated their lives to the god(s), and helping the needy, as found in the clergy.

The King of Disks

Keyword: Healer
The king of disks is surrounded by a halo of green (love) energy. He calls in the earth’s reiki power as he creates a healing, glowing ball of energy that he balances on the tip of his finger. Recent Japanese studies have confirmed that we emit light, especially from our fingertips and foreheads, [1] and that the emissions are rhythmic pulses. This pulsing demonstrates if nothing else that are heads and our hands are connected in a more powerful way than we usually acknowledge. By using our imaginations and our hands together, we can create powerful messages of what we want in our lives. The King of Disks asks us to consider how we are using our hands. The King of Disks is the shaman of the forest, gathering and dispersing earth's energy. He is most comfortable in a forest where it is easy for him to draw in elemental energies. The glowing ball is a physical manifestation of his healing ability. He can place this energy in you where it will transform and radiate warmth into the areas you need to heal. When you get this card, know that you can go to him at anytime for a dose of paternal love. He will always be in the green forest of your heart, so seek him there. This card represents a nurturing and healing man in your life, or a part of the self that knows what you must do to heal any situation. Reversed: You’re not grounded and you’re flitting about from one thing to the next. Until you can focus your energy, you’ll feel as if you’re getting no where and running around in circles. The crown chakra (Sahasrara) is the seat of higher consciousness and the master chakra of the body. It is associated with the pituitary gland and the thalamus. These glands control the central nervous system, and they are located in the center of the brain. Recent studies have linked them to consciousness, and new studies indicate that they actually respond to light, giving credence to the idea of our third eye. Release of old patterns, effortless manifestation, understanding others and ourselves intuitively, and renewed compassionate awareness is what concentrating on the crown chakra yields. Violet was once the color reserved for Roman, Egyptian and Persian royals, and it was considered the color of blood. Greek myth credits Hercules, or rather his dog with discovering the dye, when Hercules’ dog came back with his mouth stained purple from chewing on snails along the Levantine coast. In the last days of Rome, the mollusk Murex was becoming scare, due to over fishing. Dyers reputedly smelled like dead fish, according to written accounts, but cloth dyed that color was worth its weight in gold. So smelling to high-heaven became the smell of wealth. It is a color not only rich in hue but also in human historyIf this chakra is out of alignment, we may have trouble feeling compassionate toward others. We may not see our role in the greater creation of our world. Our worldview may be narrow in scope. Anxiety, not sleeping well, general feeling of persecution and anger indicate a possible problem in the crown chakra. Conversely, demanding that reason and logic dictate all outcomes and explain everything can also indicate that the crown chakra is out of balance as well.
To harmonize this area, we need to appreciate and understand our role in the world. The Queen of Disks

Keyword: Rescue
A warrior must understand the complexity of their surroundings. A warrior must instantaneously know what is most important, what to protect, and where to strike. The Queen of Disks is on a field of sunny green - a combination of love (green) and self- assuredness (yellow) surround her. She will protect you and the earth that she loves. She is attuned to her steed; they work in unison as one, effortlessly. The horse is a symbol in many cultures; sometimes the horse represents a deity or a people, and sometimes it represents characteristics like speed and integrity. War horses figure prominently in the book of Revelation and the horse represents either Christ or the Roman people, the symbol of independence, mobility and purity. The first written texts about the horse as a noble creature appear in Iran, dating back to 300 BC. Because horses are companions to us, they are loved and revered.
The Queen of Disks is genuine and generous, and she will rescue you without concern for her own well being. She has a mighty shield of love, and she has learned to harness the energy of others to her advantage, but does not take advantage of this ability, unless it is called for. She is keenly aware of how it can be used however, so she is alert to false pretense and manipulation. Reversed: You’re not being genuine with what you want to do. You’re capable enough, but you’re facing resistance because you’ve fallen off you’re steed. The horse represents integrity. Be honest with yourself. What is most important to you? Act from that point. Manipura: the navel chakra or the Solar Plexus Chakra is located just above the belly button. This is the chakra of “fire within the body or the life force.” It governs our self-esteem, our confidence in our selves, and our inner strength. Our ideas about how capable we are, and our ability to create abundance is derived from this chakra. When it is working properly, we are able to see ‘golden’ opportunities in every thing, regardless of what befalls us, we can find something good in whatever happens. If this chakra is out of alignment, we may physically have trouble ‘digesting a situation’, or understanding our role in it. Either way, to harmonize this area, we need to practice self-appreciation, tolerance and love. When we feel out of balance, there are steps that we can take to help stabilize this area.

The Knight of Disks

Keyword: Discover
This card is a break away from conventional tarot, as the Knight of Disks is a female astronaut. Not bound by our earth, she examines the topography of another world displayed in a 3-D animation display, zeroing in on a new discovery. The silver rings of energy resonate and vibrate keeping the visual display of the planet aloft. In a new take on old iconography, the "Light from Within" Knight of Disks remains the archetypal hunter: steady, quiet and strong, but she hunts for new information that will illuminate her understanding rather than hunting for sport or sustenance.
With focus and tenacity she examines her undiscovered country, and diligently documents her findings, she is very careful, and detail oriented. She is methodical and steady, and although in this instance she is not in the earthly realm, she carries those roots deep inside her. Reversed: Pay closer attention to details. Get grounded. You don’t need to be in the grass to get grounded but it helps. When you get the Knight of Disk reversed the message is to reconnect with the earth. You’ve become sloppy and disinterested in maintaining things in working order. Light Blue - Throat chakra: Vishuddha
Vishuddha: the throat chakra is the color of ice blue cough drops. It is the Communication Chakra located just below the Adam’s apple in the throat, and right around the thyroid gland which regulates our growth hormones. Associated with clarity and growth, this chakra governs our ability to express ourselves. We can strengthen this area by using sound. Our inner voice and our “abstract intuition” (instant problem solving without formal logic) are derived from this area. If this chakra is over stimulated, we may suffer sore throats, feel we have ‘something stuck in our craw’ or have a tendency to ‘run at the mouth’. If it is under stimulated we may not be able to express ourselves with ease, and we may have a tendency to speak too softly, or strain our voice when trying to get a point across. To regulate this area we can use the sound RAM or RANG in meditation. In Tibetan "Rang" means "self" and the goal is “rang tong” or to become "empty of self" to further enhance the experience of connection with all.

Page of Disks

Keyword: Empower
The Page of Disks has associations with the satyrs of Pan, he too is a mythical creature, but in his case he is a centaur. He will grow to become like Chiron, tutor to Achilles, Hercules, and many other Greek heroes. Chiron was also a great healer, but he was killed by a poisoned arrow and he became the constellation of Sagittarius, the astrological sign of the philosophic mind. In the White Light Tarot image, the Page of Disks is the young Chiron, and we find him in the forest playing with a ball of energy. He has mastery of infinite source already, but being neither man nor beast he is fickle and sometimes forgets about his skills.
He is not one to concentrate to get things done, although he processes the power to do so, he hasn't the desire. He is the consummate play mate at this young age, so do not rely on him. He will inspire and empower you to find your own way, but he will not sustain interest in solving any particular problems except for the challenge. Recognize him for what he is, and do not try to mold him into something he can never be, for he is not a whole man nor will he ever become a complete man, he is half beast, and will always be wild, and in a state of becoming. The Page of Disks is most comfortable in the shade of the cool green forest of earthly resources. When you get this card, know that you have the skills necessary to achieve what you desire, but you must also have the discipline and follow though to see your dreams through to the end. When it is time, when you decide to, you will be able to stay the course and foster your dreams through to fruition.

Reversed: The Page of Disks isn’t bad; he’s just playful and fidgety. He’ll lead you away from your true ambition into the forgetful forest of fun if you let him. He’ll lead you into the piney grove or the sacred circle of oaks to dances to Pan’s pipes as much as any Satyr. He likes to party and he will keep you in a constant state of laughter, amusement and enjoyment. He loves to have a good time, but for us mortals life can spin out of control if we don’t balance enjoyment with other aspects of life, like work and responsibility. Keep the Page of Disks as a playmate, one that you can go party with at a moments notice, but know that you’ll need a little down time after the party is over. To get your groove back after the party in the grove, you’ll probably need to meditate and release, so plan accordingly.


Indigo blue - Third-eye, brow chakra: Ajna
The Brow or third-eye Ajna chakra center is called “the seat of the soul.” It governs our awareness, our ability to foresee things and visualize desired outcomes. It is the Clairvoyant-Intuitive part of our brain residing in the frontal lobe, which corresponds with our higher brain functions. Our ideas about reality and our ability to create that reality are derived from this chakra. The color associated with Ajna is dark midnight blue, or indigo. Vincent Van Gogh’s painting “The Starry Night” makes great use of that color. When it is working properly, we are able to visualize easily, our memory is sharp as is our ability to reason. We know almost instinctively how to help someone without their asking, and we trust our intuition and ourselves.
If this chakra is out of alignment, we may have trouble understanding our role in the creation of our reality. We may chalk things up to fate or luck. We may not accept we control a lot of how things turn out. Freewill always plays a part in the creation of our circumstances, which are partly based on our worldview. Having headaches frequently or anxiety about social behaviors would also indicate a possible problem in the third-eye chakra. Conversely, needing to dominate or to control situations and others can indicate that this chakra is out of balance as well.
To harmonize this area, we need to practice self-appreciation, tolerance and love. Psychic energy is very powerful. Focusing your mind on how good life is, even through the rough times, will help you to vanquish many psychic and physical aliments. To develop your intuition and third-eye chakra you can try meditating near the ocean or a lake. Large bodies of water help to develop and sooth the mind at the same time. We open up when we are in great natural spaces that are vast. Use a picture if you can’t physically get to a vast body of water, or just look up at the sky at night, it has the same effect. Expanse and expanding is the name of the game with this chakra.

The bee is a huge symbol. Emblem of resurrection, poetry, soul and song. Bee's wax and honey were both considered divine and part of ritual that celebrated the divine soul of man. Wine and honey mead would be mixed together while candles of bee's wax were lit to celebrate special occasions. Variants of these rites are found in cultures as diverse as South American, Indian, Egyptian,Chinese, Greek and Russian. Grapes when fermented yield wine, and wine, especially red wine, is associated with blood. Considered a drink of immortality and a symbol of forbidden knowledge because of the abandonment of reason that drunkenness can induce, wine when imbibed in quantity confers a new form of understanding upon the initiate. Muslim Mystics like the Sufi poets called wine "the drink of divine love". The crux of the meaning of this card is that of final transformation. That which was terrestrial changes back into the spirit. The transition is one of experience transmigrating into true wealth - the wealth of spirit. Nine of Disks

Keyword: Sustain
Chakra: Heart, green
The bicycle wheels create a turbine that is self sustaining and yields excess power that can be offered to others. Consequently, with the surplus of energy, and the bicycle wheels symbolizing evolutionary progress, this card represents a quickening of emotional development. In some emotional capacity, you are working well enough to generate excess power. Use your 'emotional machine' to pump new life into all of your endeavors and share your power with others, as long as it isn't destructive. If you find your 'emotional machine' is mostly running on anger and steam, then change its focus to a productive endeavor, don't vent at others, as that will only gum up the works. Keep your emotional turbines burning bright by developing your heart chakra. Being forgiving and giving to others and yourself is a good place to start. Keep spinning the spiral upwards towards your highest spiritual self.

Romantic love, affection, caring and compassion, great strength, and the ability to change, this chakra governs our hands, heart, lungs and circulatory systems. It is our center of balance. If this chakra is under stimulated, we may suffer from indecision or anxiety, fear of rejection and clinginess. Eight of Disks

Keyword: Fruition
Chakra: Crown, Violet
A cherry tree on a city block rising high above the fray. A rather abstract version of the concept, still the point is that of 'the final yield' -i.e., fruition. What you have been trying to grow has finally come to harvest. The sword of the Japanese Samurai is decorated with cherries and cherry blossoms to symbolize the growth of the invisible inner life. Cherries are considered a symbol of good luck. The blossoms come forth at spring equinox, sometimes when there is still snow, and the first fruit is ready by midsummer. The wealth of the blossoms on the cherry was considered a foreshadowing of the health of the final harvest in the fall, and of the community at large. When you get this card, know that you are heading for a successful outcome. There are many things blossoming at this time.

The jar has reached capacity, or has it? How many marbles are in the jar? That doesn't matter. What is essential is that although things may seem to have reached capacity, there is always room for more. If we add smaller marbles to the jar, if we add sand, if we add water, then we'll truly reach the limit of what the jar can hold.
